Romantic Republic has Two vibes, both highly embellished!
The First: Lavish, ornate, bold, sexy, modern-Gatsby. More Retro than vintage or timeless, think 1970’s/90’s Glamour with some edge.
The Second: Slightly softer than Retro? Think nymph-mermaid, Midsummer Night’s Dream inspirations-Sexy with some whimsy.
If your poetry is rock-n-roll or Shakespeare, Romantic Republic is the republic of both sides.
Romantic Republic is first-made-then-produced. A highly embellished and body conscious collection of gowns, Romantic Republic is designed and made in-house at Gee June before it is sent to the production line. Our creation of Romantic Republic is a down-to-earth approach at couture quality construction.
Fit in Romantic Republic is of utmost importance. Beaded tulle to lay on the body like a second skin requires conversation and fittings. If you would like a fitted sleeve, but you plan on dancing or throwing your arms up in a halleluiah or ‘hey-yeah,’ detachable sleeves or shrugs (proper construction) may be the necessity over design (aesthetic).
If aesthetic is more important to you than functionality because you have a reception look, then fully set and sewn sleeves are for you and require binding.
Open Backs: If you like the look of an open back and exposed boning at the dress front or boustier bodices, but don’t like the look of flesh toned nettings: A solution, such as a back tie or belt may be necessary to keep your dress on.
4. Shapewear: If you want to double up on both shapewear and corsetry to ‘snatch’ you in, this may require two types of closure at the back of your gown- one hidden on the inside, one decorative on the outside.
5. Closures: Should the look of a Zipper or corset-back at your dress back bother you; especially, if your dresses design does not allow for a side-zip, you may require to be hand sewn in on the day of your wedding with a Dresser present.
Body Conscious, sexy-still elegant, ‘red carpet’ inspired wedding fashion is the inspiration behind the essence of a Romantic Republic Bride. This aesthetic can require light or involved customization or maintenance. *
