Ithaca is a Grass Roots kind of city! We have an awesome music scene and are home to the Grass Roots festival. When we had the opportunity to collaborate with a group of vendors out at Quinta Rosa Estate for a bonfire wedding at their creek I chose (having been inspired by both Ithaca's musical roots and Margarita Missoni's wedding) to do an off beat, eclectic, and festival inspired wedding inspiration shoot!
With festival being our vibe, farm fresh flowers picked by Thistle Flower Farm, and second hand maxi's in bold colors from a plethora of Ithaca's gently used clothing shops was it for the maids! I was able to find Forever 21 dresses for the bridesmaids while thrifting for antique fabrics!
Our bride wore a flower crown made from drift wood and our handmade Bard's gown for it's mixed metal midriff panel!
I always wanted, since living in California and experiencing Santa Monica's boardwalk into Venice Beach, to do a boho-hippie styled wedding shoot using bright colors while not committing to a color palette, dip-dyes in place of tie-dye, oversize florals, wildflowers, and big prints. This shoot helped make it happen!
