The Lenora Gown, Our 'Sleeping Beauty' Moment

The Lenora Gown, Our 'Sleeping Beauty' Moment

Back in November, just as the weather broke and Winter arrived, we shot The Lenora.  The Lenora is a majestic and regal gown fit for the brave bride who accepts Gold in abundance and would pair it with a blush veil and a dried flower crown.  The Lenora gown is six yards of liquid sunshine in a shift style ballgown with fitted long sleeves and a crew neck.

The flowers we purchased from Phoebe of Thistle Flower Farm. Her bouquet's towards the end of the season were so rich in color that I had to have them and truthfully her stems inspired the gown and this shoot. To not compete with the bouquet we used an old, dried flower crown; which also nodded towards the impending snow!

As always, Allison Marie gave us the fairy tale. I didn't go into this knowing that I would leave with 'Sleeping Beauty,' but I did and I'm forever grateful for the woman I know in Allison who became a friend through so many styled shoots.  She often accuses me of giving her soul-food, but I believe it's a shared effort of our gratitude towards one another ;).

When I was young, Sleeping Beauty was my favorite Princess.  The loom always left me in awe, the idea that threads could become fabric and fairies could make a dress with a wand... To think I became a Designer and it's fascination may have started then.
