Adornments By Gee June!!!

February 18, 2016 Layne Dann

In 2014, Gee June introduced custom adornments into our product mix.  The goal was not to create a headpiece, veil, corsage, or boutonnière only: It was to create adornments.  Unlike a headpiece or veil an adornment allows for versatility of design.  An adornment can be worn in a plethora of ways: As a hairpiece, jewelry, or even by the men!

The pictured bud was made for a flower girl’s hair piece; however, once we finished, switched it’s direction and added a vintage hat pin we saw a boutonniere!  Right now boutonniere’s are having a moment in the DIY wedding landscape: As ladies started carrying bouquets made from brooches, men started wearing handcrafted boutonniere’s!

Pictured Flower: The pictured flower bud is made from silk, and is hand painted.  The silk hydrangea petals were curled using a 1950’s milliners iron, and the pearls and sequins were hand sewn in silk thread. Made in the U.S.A: Ithaca, NY.
